Rachel Lambert-Smith BA (Hons) MBAcC MCMIR MION
What is our background? We have been involved in Bio Energetic – Complementary and Alternative Medicine for a very long time.
Mike Lambert first took an interest in Oriental Medicine in 1966 and is now recognised as a global authority in his own right. Having undergone both an extensive and intensive training programme spanning several decades he has amassed a remarkable amount of knowledge experience and skills. He has a doctorate in the Sciences of Medicine - remains at the cutting edge of free thinking medicine, and is a supporter of the International Society for the Humanisation of Medicine.
Rachel Lambert-Smith has proven herself beyond any doubt to be one of the most creative and effective Acupuncturists working today. She started her training in Acupuncture of Traditional Chinese Medicine in 1990 and graduated with Distinction in 1994. She carried out her clinical training under Dr Han Li Ping (from the Academy of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Beijing) and has greatly expanded other areas of her practice and is now considered to be a world class practitioner in her own right.
What do we treat? In many ways we see people for the same reasons and conditions that they would see their GP and that is for a very broad and diverse range of problems, with an emphasis on chronic conditions and illnesses. Traditional Medicine is a comprehensive healthcare system in its own right.
We have a responsible approach as to what falls within our capabilities, and we know when we should refer to others including orthodox medicine.
About 8 million people within the UK are now regular users of C.A.M. and many see it as their chosen healthcare preference.
Traditional Medicine (C.A.M.) has for thousands of years been the main medicine of the world’s population and is still the first choice of over 3 billion people globally. It also brings the benefits of over 3,000 years of clinical observations.
Over the past 100 years the world has been dominated by the political, drug driven system of orthodox medicine. However, this is changing. As many people are becoming better informed they are becoming aware that there could be more natural and sometimes more effective ways of dealing with their problems – drug, and sometimes surgery free.
The World Health Organisations recognises C.A.M. as being effective in dealing with many chronic illnesses and conditions, some beyond the reach of orthodox medicine.
The Shen Clinic is playing a major role in the modernisation of Traditional Medicine (C.A.M.) and in some areas we are leading the way.
Some conditions that you might consider the use of C.A.M. for, include the following:
Allergies, Anxiety, Arthritis, Asthma, Back Pain, Bloating, Colds, Cancer, Children, Confidence, Colitis, Conception and pregnancy, Candida, Chrohns, Circulation, Dementia, Dental Leakage, Depression, Detoxificaiton, Diabetes, Digestive disorders, Eczema, Emotional imbalance, Flu, Fatigue, Gynaecological, Heart disease, Hypertension, Joint pain, IBS, Insulin issues, Impotence, Immune depletion, Insomnia, M.E., M.S., Menopause, Metabolic syndrome, Migraine, Muscular- Skeletal problems, Nutritional issues, Obesity, Pain-general, P.M.T., Pregnancy, Prostate, Psoriasis, Psychological problems, Sciatica, Sinus, Skin conditions, Stress, Stroke, Thyroid, Tension, Weight control- and many other health and injury issues.
What we don’t do – congratulate ourselves for just removing symptoms, for a start. Symptoms are telling you something – pain is an example of this. If you were driving your car along the motorway and your engine warning light came on, would you stop the car, remove the bulb and then continue to drive it? Well, that’s exactly what is happening in many cases when symptoms are masked with drugs, and in some cases when corrected via manipulation. You have to resolve the underlying cause, then the symptom will disappear, naturally. Tragically, the motto of the drug company cartels seems to be “There’s no profit in cure”.
We never make claims or guarantees relating to cures, interfere with prescribed medicines, or breach confidentialities. We do not attempt to keep people away from doctors, drugs or surgery whenever they are needed. In fact as a matter of good practise, we encourage you to talk to your GP regarding your condition to enable you to make an informed choice.
